What Does A Fainting Episode In An Alzheimer's Patient Indicate?

Question: My wife is 76 years old. She has moderate Alzheimer's and is otherwise in good health. Last night she suffered a fainting spell her skin was very cold and wet and she had nausea. What could be causing these conditions?

I am so sorry to hear about your wife and her struggles with Alzheimers'. Unfortunately, the medical community hasn't gotten a complete cure for this condition just yet. J=However, there is ongoing research in this area.

I have reviewed her information fully. Her symptoms might have been explained by low fluids intake with consequent fall in blood pressure. I will suggest that you often follow up and make sure she drinks enough. Also, monitor her blood pressure closely and most especially during such spells and report the values to us. If she is on treatment for high blood pressure, share her medications as well with me for review and guidance.
