Question: Hello Dr. XXXXXXX
Thank you for this follow up. I asked the oncologist for a copy of the CT and PET scans. I just received them. I will upload for your review later this week. The question will be: Can you determine from the CT and PET scans, how much the tumor has grown in the last 6 months or how aggressive the cancer is growing.

Brief Answer:
CT & PET scan can determine growth size, its extent, recurrence & metastasis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

Ct scan is a good investigation to determine the size and extend of the growth.
It also helps to determine the size of residual tumor.
A follow up CT scan after treatment (surgery or radio/chemotherapy) is helpful in determining the recurrence of the tumor.

PET scan is done to determine any metastatic focus, lymph node metastasis or recurrence of tumor anywhere in body.

If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.
