default
Posted on Mon, 27 Jun 2016
Question: I constantly get temporary pulsing in my thumb, that then spreads to my lips, and is followed by flashing colored lights in my eyes. My internist feels that this may be seizures similar to migraine. He also sent me for a brain MRI.

Brief Answer:
Get Mri done and visit treating doctor or neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The symptoms described are most likely partial seizures and in view of chemotherapy, a possibility of brain metastasis should be evaluated.
Brain Mri with contrast should be done.
Antiepileptics like carbamazepine or lacosamide can be started for seizures.
Eeg should be done.
Continue rest medications.
Any history of headache, vomiting, loss of consciousness, motor weakness in hand or leg, facial twitching or deviation?
Hope you found the answer helpful.
