Brief Answer:
Plate atelectasis is a common finding on chest xray.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Plate atelectasis are linear shadows detected at the base of the lungs. These are common findings seen almost daily in chest xrays. In most case plate atelectasis has no clinical significance and are very common in elderly and smokers. It is also seen in patients in whom ventilation(Breathing) is poor as seen in patients after surgery or patients confined to bed.

In my opinion you should not be overtly worried. However deep breathing exercises should be done for proper ventilation of the lung
