Question: Hi Doctor,

My kid is 5 years. She is very naughty. She always likes spoiling things than using. She throws toys and mobiles. These days she is pushing and beating kids younger than her.I counselled her many times softly. Also punished her, but still she is not being normal.I am really worried whether we need to consult psychologist.

Brief Answer:
Yes, counselling is needed

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Yes, you indeed need to consult a psychologist. Let me tell you that such issues need a proper perception of the problem so that appropriate coping mechanisms can be developed. This can be done by taking her to a psychological counsellor. The psychologist may undertake psychotherapy or counselling to get a concrete grasp of the roots of such a behavior and depending upon the scenario will be able to administer cognitive behavioral therapy to help in its resolution. The story in case of each individual is different and they therefore need an individualized treatment plan.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
