No not necessary that clips are always there.

Hello,

No, it is not necessary that you always see clips after years of surgery sometimes they are embedded inside the connective tissue formed on the clips. Some times after few years they get loose and passes through common bile duct. Role of clips are there in achieving homeostasis post surgery that's it.

Parenchymal tear depends on the amount of damage caused because even if 60% of liver is completely damaged a patient can live normally even researches have shown that liver can regenerate itself from 20%.

So mild to moderate parenchymal tear would heal itself up in few years or would get scarred up.
Frankly no effect on functions of liver.
