What Causes White Band Like Formation On The Fingernails?

Question: I have an odd question. I noticed something odd with my fingernails. it could have always been like this but not sure if it is normal. I searched everything online and couldn't get an answer. at the very tip of my nail right below where the nail grows out from the skin I noticed right below it I have a white band that runs the shape of the nail. almost looks like a French manicure. is this normal? not sure if you can see it? I attached an image.
