What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Mouth Post An Unprotected Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Feb 2017
Question: Hello I have a sexual health question. I recently engaged in unprotected oral sex. There was a condom with spermicide on first. He took it off and then I performed oral sex. Shortly after, I noticed a tingly/ slight burning sensation in my mouth. That night I rinsed my mouth with mouthwash. 24 hours later- the tingling is still on my mouth and lips. There was no ejaculation or precum that I know. What do you think is causing the tingling/burning?

Brief Answer:
I do not think both are related

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to inform you that there is no sexually transmitted infection which present in short span of time. Most of the diseases need at least two to three days to months or years to show symptoms. I mean to say that it is not sexually transmitted infection.

Regarding your question what may be causing this, the first thing is fear of contacting a disease through unprotected oral sex. This is most likely cause as the manifestations were there shortly after engaging in oral sex and persisting till date as the fear is persistent.

I hope this answers you.
If you have more questions I will be glad to assist you further.
If you do not have more questions, please close the discussion and if possible rate the answer for my future patients.
