You are needing to chose between megace and aygestin and you need to know which one will cause the most weight gain. The megace is the one which will cause the most weight gain. We use megace in situations that we want people to gain weight so this would be the most effective medication to produce weight gin. the aygestin will too but a lot less

I cannot afford any weight gain.

I was on 40mg of megace. changing to 5 mg aygestin

will 5mg of aygestin control bleeding as well as 40 mg megace?

The aygestin is a different form of hormone and you can't equate milligram to milligrams between the tow products. So the 5mg aygestin should work as well as the 40mg of megace.
