Question: I have a stomach ache every time I eat nuts -sometimes I can eat seeds but it is variable--I have been tested by skin with a very mild reaction. I love nuts --how can I desensitize myself or should I give up before I have a full anaphylactic reaction

Brief Answer:
Anaphylaxis is a serious condition.Consult the alergologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM.

I can understand your concern.

According to your explanation you are already diagnosed with alergic reaction due to nuts.
Usually in childhood patients wthehem there is a food alergy, the alergologist tends to do proves with taking a small amount of that food step by step for several times in order the organism to be in contact and to sensitized with the alergen. The patient was in the hospital durimg these proves.I
Sometimes they won but sometimes not.
In your case according to your age i would not recommended you to continue eating this kind of food.Anafilaxy is a seroius situation with serious complications.
Prior doing this consult immediately with the alergologist.
Take care.

Hi I have recently been diagnosed with severe allergies, Anaphylaxis, due to peanuts, all nuts, dairy and wheat as well as many fruit and vegetables so my diet is rather restricetd. A couple of weeks ago I started passing blood in my stools - quite a lot and went to the doctor who has referred me to a specialist who is going to carry out an endoscopy to see what s happening. Today, I am having severe pain when passing urine and there is blood everytime. It is so painful, I am drinking plenty of water and cranberry juice. Whys is this happening? I take 1 dose of antihistamine per day for my allergies. I am 55 yrs old, female, 5ft 7in and weigh about 15 stone. I am in a very stressful job trying to meet tough targets in the property business. Can you help? (not with the targets, but my health. Many thanks J

While traveling last week, I went into anaphylaxis after eating calamari. Along with eyes, nose, lips, and throat swelling, I vomited violently for hours and had severe abdominal distress. When I finally had a bowel movement, it was followed by bright red blood. I passed blood multiple times. After examination, the ER Dr. said the blood was likely caused by diverticulosis and I should follow up with my GI Dr. My question: Can Anaphylaxis cause acute diverticulitis?

Hello! I am 17 years old (female) and have had quite a history. After suffering with stomach problems for 6 years (treated as IBS) I found out that I had food allergies... (very severe, with over 80 allergies, I suffer from Anaphylaxis) I have had many problems with my immune system, and have been having a strange sun-burn like rash on my left shoulder that comes from out of no where. I have a strong history of getting infection (ear infections, bronchitis, sinus infections) and have a very bad drug intolerance. I can only have rocephin injections, because I react to everything else. My doctors have been looking into different autoimmune disorders and such, but have found nothing. (I was recently tested for Sysemic Mastocytosis, but that came back clean as well.) Even though I am staying on my strict diet due to the food allergies, I am still getting sick almost every time I eat. (severe abdominal pain and an upset stomach.) My doctors are baffled.
Any Ideas?
