Question: Hi Doctor,

I am XXXX. My father age is 59 some days before his leg swelling under the knee. If you press leg under the knee that portion become dent. Could you please what should i suggest him to do.

As per the history given, your father probably seem to have pedal edema(accumulation of water in the feet and legs).

This could suggest heart failure as prime cause in a elderly individual with high blood pressure.

At this point, it is very important to screen for heart failure through a 2D TRANSTHORACIC ECHO of the heart.

This test will throw light on further treatment options.

For this test you need to consult a Cardiologist in person.
