Brief Answer:
Causes of tremors left hand

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. There are so many causes of tremors. The different causes depend upon type of tremors. There are few types of tremors, first your have to identify the type. The different types are

- Resting tremors - Such tremors occur only at rest.

- Intentional tremors - Such tremors occur while trying to do some work

- Mixed - Mixture of above mentioned tremors

- Essential tremors - Such tremors occur without cause, mostly in aged people and also run in family. These are fine tremors.

- Anxiety tremors - Such tremors are like essential tremors, but occur only during anxiety/mental stress.

Now coming to the causes of different tremors

- Cerebellar disease, like tumor/Infarct/trauma/alcoholism, can cause intentional tremors

- Red nucleus lesion like rubral trauma/Infarct/multiple sclerosis/Huntington disease, can cause mixed tremors

- Resting tremors are caused by Parkinson disease

- Hyperthyroidism or anxiety/caffeine intake/drug abuse/adrenal gland disease can cause essential or anxiety tremors.

- Essential tremors can be due to familial inheritance/age related/cerebral atrophy/stroke.

Now you can correlate your left hand tremors with above mentioned types. Few basic investigations are needed to find the cause like

- Thyroid function test

- MRI brain

To further know the cause, you can consult neurologist. Hope it will help you. If any doubt, do let me know.

Thanks. take care
