What Causes Red Bumps On Skin After Sweating?

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Jul 2014
Question: When I'm outside for long periods of time where it's 80f or above and sweat, I'll get red bumps on area where clothing is touching. Usually back and shoulders, and 15%-25% of red bumps will turn into white heads. They go from itching to sensitive but really doesn't hurt. Usually clears in 1 week. On real hot days it will go up my neck. It usually takes 24 hrs to show if mild, within 8 hrs on bad days. I can lessen the effect if I put baby powder with corn starch on back and chest. Never got this as a kid then one day it started, about 8 years ago, and issue ever since. I wear light weight clothing that cools and draws sweat from body. Nothing works well tho. Don't seem to have issue when I go on runs, seems to happen mostly when active for very long periods of time...golfing

Brief Answer:
urticaria is most likely possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
I have read your query and understood your concern.

It seems that you are suffering from a condition called urticaria.
It is an allergic condition of skin characterized by transient red colored itchy eruptions involving body.
This all can be due to number of reasons like recent infection, food, pollen grains, weather change, sun exposure, any environmental allergen.

I would like you to get following investigations :
1 ) complete blood count
2 ) absolute eosinophil count
3 ) stool for ova and cyst
4 ) thyroid profile
5 ) blood sugar levels

Till the time you may take medications like fexofenadine in morning and levocetrizine 5 mg nyt tym.

Kindly get back to me with reports of above mentioned investigations so that I can help you to my best.
Stay healthy.
