What Causes Polymicrobial Infection In The Groin Area?

default
Posted on Wed, 2 Nov 2016
Question: I had a place come up over night on groin area. When I first found it I thought that I had torn a mole loose and it was hanging. I have had no mole in that area. It was very painful. With in a matter of a few hours, it apparently fell over and left a round area the size of a nickel that went from red to a shiny white. Around this, the size was very red and sore. There was no discharge that I am aware of. Later in the day, a hard lump came up about 2 inches from original spot. It was about a two inch moveable lump. Very sore. I have been given sulfa. The sore is leaving, but the white spot is still there, and the lump is getting less swollen. The area between the two is red and tender, but better. Can you tell me what might have caused it. My physician speculates that is could be a bite of a spider or tick. I also had a very sore nose what swelled and left the skin very sore. Painful enough that touching it brought tears. It has left almost complete. My doctor was not sure if they were related. I have been miserable for over a week.

Brief Answer:
Possible ulcer of polymicrobial infection? Upload images

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam

I have worked through your query in detail.

This possibly seems to be an ulcer of mixed polymicrobial infection.

This can cause such varied changes.

Spider/Tick bite seem to be unusual in the absence of systemic signs.

It's important that you upload images of your groin, which can help me to guide you further.

Post your further questions if any.
Thank you.
