Possible TMJ disorder needs conservative treatment.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

"As" per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1) Do a clinical examination by your Doctor[Ortho] and to know the exact status of joint do an MRI scan.

2) Discuss with your Doctor about prescription medication [amitriptyline]if already tried OTC painkillers.

3) Consult with your physio for a specific exercise plan and talk about [oral splints]

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -

1) Try to avoid overuse of jaw muscles. Eat soft foods. Cut food into small pieces and try to avoid chewing gum.

2) Do stretching and massage. Your physical therapist may show you how to do exercises that stretch and strengthen your jaw muscles and how to massage the muscles yourself.

3) Apply heat or cold. Applying warm, moist heat or ice to the side of your face may help alleviate pain.
