Brief Answer:
You can take tablet paracetamol

Detailed Answer:
Hello

The best and safest medicine for relieving the pain would be a Paracetamol/acetaminophen 500 mg tablet , to be taken 1-2 times a day after food.It will give good pain relief.

You can also try applying hot water bottle/hot fomentation over the area, it will help relieve the pain.

Please remember the pain on left side of chest can also be related to your heart and if it persists even after the medication , i would like you to meet your doctor.

Take care!
