What Causes Intermittent Lower Right Abdominal Pain?
Question: How do you know if your appendix is causing my pain? I gave really severe pain in my lower right side, really low by my pelvic area and it comes and goes for the past few days and lasts about an hour but it's really extreme.

Acute appendicitis is appendix inflammation which. has some usual clinical picture and include pain around umbilicus which shifts to right lower abdominal area within8-12 hours after onset. It is constant pain associated with nausea ,vomiting and loss of appetite. Such symptoms are seen in 70% if cases and other 30%, there may be some nonspecific symptoms so in your case it can't be ruled out for sure,but it is not likely to be appendicitis since in 2 days,the pain would be very intensive and constant,and it would lead to appendix perforation,fever and nausea. in your case,there may be ovarian cyst,endometriosis or mesenterial lymohadenitis or urinary stone.. These don't require surgery in most cases but if you have any doubts you should do ultrasound and blood work. Wish you good health. Regards
