Question: my husband blood pressure this morning is 165/97 p 70 He is on 2 meds twice a day. I am concerned that this is not good.He is very active and 66 yrs old What should he do. He does not want to go to the Dr.

The blood pressure is a high blood pressure but it is not high enough to cause any acute complications.
In 2014, the JNC guidelines changed and the blood pressure goal for persons over 60 is now less than 150/90.

This means that he does not need to be seen immediately by his doctor but should schedule an appointment to see if his medications need to be altered for better control.
This appointment should be within this month if possible.
