Question: I am 92 years old. My stools are like gravel. I can't even feel them coming or passing. They are like small
dark stones. Thank you.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Have gone through your details and i appreciate your concerns.
Gravel like stools is a classical sign of lack of fiber in diet and constipation.
Once you would start taking fibers in optimum doses constipation would be relieved and there would be well formed stools.
Rx
Start taking Fybrogel 2 tsf twice daily or you can take isabghul husk.Soak.it in XXXXXXX warm water for 20 minutes once it swells up have it with curd.Its a bulk forming agent and is very helpful in forming bulked up stools.
Secondly if you feel constipated then take over the counter lactulose preperation 10 ml once daily at night.
Take a probiotic like econorm twice daily.

Food to be followed-
Consume high fiber foods as a part of high biber diet. Grain products. whole grain breads, whole wheat, whole grain mixed grain, cracked wheat, buns, muffins. Brown ricewhole wheat pasta or brown rice pastacereals made from whole grain oatmeal ground flax, wheat germ or wheat XXXXXXX in baked goods vegetables: (3-5 servings daily) dark green leafy vegetables contain heigest amounts of fiber. Spinach, broccoli, green peas, green beans, turnip greens. Fruits: (2-3 serving of fruits) apples. Oranges, pears, peaches. Berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries) dried fruits (dates, prunes apricots legumes, nuts and seeds Black bean, green beans, peas, kidney bean, lentils, peanut, soy beanWalnuts, peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds.

You would start feeling better in one week.
