What Causes Feeling Of Heat Inside The Vagina?

Question: Have just finished two courses of antibiotics Ibilex 500 for an e.coli urinary tract infection but still have a feeling of heat inside my vagina could it be something else causing this feeling - my doctor did suggest hormone therapy as I have a very atrophic vagina - would hormone therapy help my problem ?

The feeling of heat inside the vagina could be due to atrophic vaginitis which is usually seen in post menopausal women. If the urine culture is negative for any infection then the symptoms could be related to vaginal atrophy or a Vitamin B12 deficiency. You can start applying local estrogen gel and take methylcobalamin supplements. Oral hormonal therapy is not immediately needed. You can get the gel and supplements prescribed from your gynecologist.
