Question: My wife went to the bathroom and became dizzy and broke into a cold sweat and thought she might pass out. She noticed blood around her stool. Not black stool. She has gone several times but no longer dizzy. Still blood around stool.

Brief Answer:
Consult doctor to exclude occukt bleeding, syncope

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

I understand this can be very disturbing. Dizziness and blood in stool deserves a keen attention. If at the moment she is tired, have been having frequent episodes of blood in stool and looks pale, it might be urgent she visits the emergency room so that severe gastrointestinal hemorrhage be excluded.

Some people can bleed from inside, which could be severe and not seen from the outside. Its good she gets an urgent review by a doctor.

other common causes of dizziness, like syncopes, generally periodic and transitory are not uncommon. If the dizziness lasted only a couple of seconds and she became fine, with no prior notion of serious illness, no need to worry. Seeing a doctor remains imperative to know the reason for having blood in stool.

I strongly suggest you consult a doctor. Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health.
