Question: I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT THE DRUG LINSOPRIL. MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN ON HIS FOR A LONG TIME. AND HE SLEEPS ALL THE TIME, TALKS IN HIS SLEEP ALL NIGHT, AND HIS BLOOD PRESSURE GOES UP SO FAST SOMETIMES AND SO HIGH THAT I HAVE TO GIVE HIM ANOTHER KIND OF BLOOD PRESSURE PILL. HE HAS BEENON FIVE DIFFERENT ONES FOR YEARS. BUT I HAVE HEARD THAT THE GENERIC LINSOPRIL IS CAUSING ALOT OF PROBLEMS IS THIS TRUE?

I guess you are talking about Lisinopril(spelling mistake)
Although some dizziness and fatigue are common side effects of lisinopril(but most people tolerates it well,and find it not difficult),it is not known to cause extreme sleepiness/night mares/sleep talking/bouts of hypertension.

This is a very commonly used anti-hypertensive drug,used in many patients for long time without trouble.If your husband is not fine with the drug(even though these problems may not be related to lisinopril),you can freely discuss this with your treating doctor.
And frequent fluctuations in BP may need evaluation for other causes like cardiac/endocrine causes.Your doctor will guide you in this.
