Brief Answer:
benign prostatic hypertrophy

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.

You are concerned that having to masturbate for the past 25 years has caused you to have difficulty urinating. The short answer here is no. Masturbation causes no harm to your urogenital tract.

What you are probably experiencing now is the prostate gland getting larger with age and restricting the flow of urine. This happens to all men as they get older and is normal part of aging. This is called benign prostatic hypertrophy or benign enlargement of the prostate gland. Your doctor can perform a rectal examination to check the size of the prostate to confirm the diagnosis.

Your doctor can also give you medications to help reduce the size of the prostate and to help urinate more easily. To help shrink the prostate there is a medication called Proscar that reduces the size of the prostate. There is also medications to improve urine flow like Flomax. they can be used separately or together to help improve urine flow.

In summary
1. masturbation did not cause your urine problem
2. Benign prostatic hypertrophy is cause
3. Doctors exam to check prostate size
4. Medication Proscar or Flomax to improve urine flow

I hope this answers your medical question. Please contact us again with your health care concerns and questions.
