What Causes Dark Brown Blood In Semen Of An Elderly Man?

Question: I have blood, dark brown almost, in my semen? Please advise..Saw a Urologist about 2 years ago and was advised not to worry. blood at that time was lighter than the brown color now. There was about a 6 month period of normal semen, since October been the dark color. At age 77 intercourse is quite infrequent. Last physical in December Prostate and PSA good. do take Finasteride,5mg

This can be caused by several conditions and most common are Prostate inflammation and STD so these should be ruled out first by ultrasound and STD tests(despite the infrequent sexual activity).

Also ,if nothing is found then you should undergo for cystoscopy to evaluate bladder and possible polyps.
