What causes constant dizziness in children?
Question: Hello, My six year old daughter complained of being dizzy last Friday after school. She has not complained since of any dizziness but today on our way home from school she said that her left eye was sore at school but is ok now. I did notice her left eye being a little lazy looking. But its seems fine now. Is this something to be concerned about ?

Brief Answer:
I would like to check blood pressure and blood sugar
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
The main cause of dizziness in this age is orthostatic hypotension(low blood pressure when standing from sitting or lying down position) or hypoglycemia(low blood sugar).Low hemoglobin can also cause dizziness.
I would like to check her blood pressure and blood sugar along with hemoglobin to rule out these common conditions.
There are few uncommon conditions related to heart and eyes that can cause dizziness.
In most of the cases the mild dizziness does not have an obvious medical cause but evaluation should be done to rule out any possibilities.
If there is no pain, redness or excessive watering from the eye,I won't get overly worried.
I would suggest you to consult a pediatrician to rule out any other disorder by direct clinical examination.
I shall be glad to answer if you have any more query.
