Brief Answer:
do icing or heat, strap to index finger, motrin tabs

Detailed Answer:
It may be some stretching or strain of tendons of the finger. Do icing if fresh or hot fomentation after 12 hours. take motrin three times a day after meals.
Strap the mid finger with a adhesive tape to the index finger which will work as a splint
wait for 2-days, it will settle

see an orthopedic doctor and an x ray may be advised
