Posted on Thu, 22 Jan 2015
Question: My bp is at 123/84 and pulse (resting) is 108 bpm. I've been having bouts of breathlessness and palpitations the last couple of days. Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
This pulse is high and your BP to good for a hypertensive!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for using HCM.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. Your blood pressure is normal but may be too low for a person being treated for hypertension. Do you have any idea what your usual numbers are? If they are never this low, it may be a possible reason fr your symptoms. Have your drugs been changed or modified recently? If any changes, please report them to me.

Am concerned about your pulse and the blood pressure. This may be due to your medications and more likely if there has been a recent change in your treatment plan.

I hope this helps. If you need more information, please do not hesitate to ask more questions and we would gladly address them.

No recent changes. Normal numbers when untreated are 135/107. Meds bring into normal range. Been with this med for 2+ years. Just started having issues the past coue of days. Is this worthy of an ER visit?

Are you having symptoms right now?

Hi,
If you are having symptoms right now, then make a quick visit to the ER.

If not, I will recommend you plan on getting an appointment with your doctor for review as soon as possible.
