What Causes Brain Zaps While Experiencing Anxiety?

Question: my wife is 52 and has been experiencing brain zaps and she says it feels like something is attacking her nervous system which in turn elevates anxiety which freaks her out no specialist we have been to can explain why or even how to combat this problem please help

What you are describing is a classic somatic symptom of anxiety. This loops back around on itself and causes more anxiety. I recommend treatment either with an SSRI medication such as escitalopram of sertraline, or cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Either, or both, can help these symptoms go away.
