Question: MY HUSBND IS 75 NI ANERSING HOME NOW 5 YEARS HASE BOON INFCATION BOTH FEET ? NOW 3 MONTHS WANTS BOTH FEET REMOVED AT SAME TIME WHAT CAN BE EXPEDID HE NOT WALKED FOR 10 YEARS HE RECIVAD FROM BED SOWRS I THINK NOT GETTIG RIGIT CARE XXXXXXX XXX

An immobile patient like your husband is likely to develop bed sores if proper physiotherapy is not done.
The decision to remove the feet lies with his treating surgeon. In case he has a sever infection that is not responding to any treatment and is likely to spread then it is best to get his feet amputated. This will decrease his pain but he will still be bed ridden.
Only his treating doctor can choose the best treatment for him after a proper physical examination.
