I went for a run/walk last night felt fine, went to sleep and this morning I woke up and my left arm and hand were swollen. There was no pain and the swelling is done now. Brief Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM

Detailed Answer:
I dont think that you should be concerned. it is always possible that there was prolonged pressure on arm veins during sleep or there was muscle edema caused by exercise which would lead to arm swelling. This is not unusual.
Some more serious causes are rare but if this happens again, then thoracic outlet syndrome should be considered.
I dont thin that water retaining is related to this incident. this usually depends on hormonal status, physical activity, diet and some other factors. of course,if this become significant and you start to feel weakness, heart or urinary problems, you should do more detailed internist work up. Wish you good health. Feel free to ask Regards
