What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy Through Non-penetrative Sexual Activity?

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Dec 2015
Question: Hello,

Is pregnancy possible without penetration? My girlfriend and I engaged in heavy petting and rubbing about three weeks ago. I ejaculated twice. The first was on her leg while wearing cotton underpants. The second was several hours later on her stomach and chest after mutual masturbation. There was no penetration whatsoever, though my genitals did touch her labia during the rubbing and I did touch her genitals with my hand and vice versa.

I am worried that sperm, either from semen or pre-ejaculate, was able to enter her vagina, although none was deposited below her waist . Also that she may have transported microscopic sperm to her vagina on her hand.

Brief Answer:
Even the drop of pre ejaculate is enough to get pregnant.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HCM.
I have gone through your query.

Even a drop of pre ejaculate is enough, to get pregnant. If unknowingly (you / your girlfriend) had some how deposited the sperm or ejaculate in vagina, she can become pregnant.

If you are not trying to get pregnant, it is better to use one or the other methods of contraception. Presently I would suggest her to take post coital pill, within 72 hours of these act.
If 72 hours has passed, i would suggest you to wait till her period and if it is delayed, do a urine pregnancy test after week of missed period and with the morning sample of urine, which is found to be highly sensitive.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Thank you, Doctor. I have a quick follow-up, as I am concerned about the situation.

Is pregnancy likely? Is there a strong chance or a small chance? Again, there was no penetration, and nobody deliberately put semen into the vaginal opening. I am specifically worried about leakage or transfer from hands.

I have also read that a 2003 study states pre-ejaculate does not contain sperm. I do not mean to criticize your medical experience, there just seem to be conflicting answers.

Brief Answer:
Even though less, chances are there.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
It is possible to become pregnant from a man's pre-ejaculate fluid under certain circumstances, though the chances are quite low. Pre-cum itself does not contain sperm, however sperm left behind from a previous ejaculation might be there.

So if you don't want get pregnant, I don't think you should take risk.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
