There are two main groups of antidepressants: tricyclic antidepressants and called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).The tricyclic antidepressants are not recommended for use in people with heart pathologies. Antidepressant SSRIs, citalopram and escitalopram are not recommended for people with heart pathologies but antidepressants such as paroxetine, sertraline or venlafaxine (besides they are also suitable for post traumatic stress and insomnia)can be used safely.
