Brief Answer:
Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to inform you that 190/140 of BP is very high and there is need for physician consultation. However as per the recommended guidelines blood pressure is not considered abnormal unless it was found abnormal on two different settings. From this it can be inferred that despite being the abnormal range, his doctor preferred not to prescribe medication for high blood pressure.

It is also important to understand that high blood pressure is contributed by both anxiety as well as depression. This translates to the fact that his doctor wants to treat one of the contributing cause before prescribing medication for high blood pressure.

Regarding lexapro it can cause decrease as well as increase in blood pressure. However this is just a side effect and most people do not experience it. So it will be wise to be watchful rather than panic.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
