Three Years Ago I Had Spiral Fractures In Both Bones

default
Posted on Wed, 19 Jun 2019
Question: Three years ago I had spiral fractures in both bones between my right ankle and knee. Injury was repaired by surgery and the placement of hardware. Everything was wonderful until the last six months or so. I started to have occasional pain with walking and now I constantly have it wrapped. I elevate as often as I can and ice it as well. Certain movements send a sharp pain throughout the area. What could be the cause of this? Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
Can be misplaced implant or osteoarthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The sudden pain and occasional sharp pain in the leg can be related to a broken or misplaced implant or osteoarthritic changes in the area. This needs a proper examination by an orthopedician and an X-ray to find the cause of the pain. Elevation and ice can provide only a temporary relief. Proper cause needs to be identified for specific treatment.
I hope this answers your query.
