Brief Answer:
5 mg every week

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM

I can understand your concern

The exact manner for tappering steroids is 5 mg per week which means one week 55 mg ,one week 50 mg and so on.

Usually we follow this rule .

However your treating doctor knows better your actual clinical picture and the severity of the diseases and probably he has decided the best way for you.

The dosage of steroids is decided on your weight too.

If 40 mg is not suitable for you than you can discuss with your doctor for the above.

I wish a fast recovery for you

Take care and feel free to ask me again
