Question: I am a 58 year old female with transverse myelitis and myelomalacia Asa result of a cervical epidural for chronic right arm pain.last April I had two ticks I removed and within weeks began to have multiple symptoms. I saw infectious disease who did the western blot and EIA. According to CDC guidelines I was negative. I did a litaturereview and found that IgM P23 Ab (which I was positive for) is diagnostic for lymes. We only have one ID group in town. About a year ago I started having hallucinations and now paranoia, anorexia, several bouts of pneumonitis is which I was hospitalized for, severe anemia with no source of bleeding found (16 & 25)and my transverse myelitis has gotten worse, also skin ulcers (have seen dermatology to no avail). My memory has gotten horrible in the last six months. My neurologist is sending me to Shands for psychiatric testing. So, with all that, Do you know a lyme literate doctor in XXXXXXX that would see me on short notice as traveling is very painful for me. Yes the appointments are difficult with these MD's. However when you call for an appointment, ask if there are any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.
