Brief Answer:
Nothing to be worried .

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX ,

Thanks for consulting Healthcaremagic.
This is Dr. Priyanka Tiwari answering your query .

Read your query and understand your concern as your child has toothache and your doctor has suggesting you to go for Root canal treatment. See what happenS is when there is pain in tooth there is infection in tooth caused by bacteria and when infection reaches the pulp (root region) of tooth it is treated with procedure known as root canal treatment .

So nothing to be worried much I will suggest consult oral surgeon (pedodontist ) go for iopa xray of infected tooth and if your radiograph reveals that infection reaches pulp of tooth you should go for root canal procedure for your child instead of extraction or filling.

As Extraction creates space in arch and cause mesial drifting of next tooth present in same arch and filling of tooth will not give relief in pain. Also let me know which tooth is affected so that I am better able to help.

Hope I have answered your query .
If you have further query I will be happy to help.
