Question: This is for my wife
My wife had tooth infection just week before due date of delivery. Dentist given medicine post consultation of gynecologist . After one there was swelling on tooth . Post visiting gynecologist she admitted wife and gave antibiotics through IV, after 36 hours swelling came down and gynecologist did normal delivery . after delivery pediatrician found baby having trouble breathing and admitted to NICU . As per neonatologist baby was suffered from MAS and PH and post one month got discharged and now doing well.
My query is weather gynecologist did right diagnosis and treatment or there was measure to avoid MAS and PH to baby .

Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

thanks for writing us about your health concerns
There was nothing wrong in treatment and the problem of meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS)
cannot be prevented by the same
So all that occurred was just a coincidence that she had all those issues.
But in general in case she hadn't had tooth infection, the problem of infection after MAS would have been a little milder.
So just relax and enjoy this new phase of life

Take care
Regards
