Suggest Treatment For Short Term Memory Loss

default
Posted on Mon, 10 Apr 2017
Question: I seem to have short term memory loss. I went to a neurologist and he did tests on me and said that i did not have anything like the beginnings of dementia or Alzheimer. But called it something else. I was told to try the product metafolbic plus that is would jelp my short term memory. T supplement is so expensive, but it does make a difference. I forget to get my script refilled for ab out a month and when I went back to work after my ankle surgery I could not even remember where to go on the computer. I was sent home. But it does make a difference. It is so expensive. Any suggestions? or help?

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

Metafolbic Plus is a supplement that has no randomized controlled trial showing it is any more effective than placebo. It is not likely to help. There is no medication that has been shown to prevent Alzheimer's disease. You can participate in online cognitive training which has shown some benefit. Sometimes a medication called Aricept has also been useful, but this is a prescription medication.
