Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Pain

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Dec 2015
Question: I've been experiencing severe pain in and around my ear on the right side. This includes area of the head, cheek, eye and neck. Bowers the main pain appears to come from the inner ear. I've been to the Doctor Who initially thought it might be pre-shingles virus since there was no ear infection or possibly TMJ. TMJ was ruled out. I completed a course of shingles treatment and 2 weeks of diclofenac which reduced pan intensity but little else. Afterward I recalled a serious root canal three weeks prior to the onset of the initial pain. Last night my dentist, a friend, asked me to come in at 8:30 PM. He couldn't really find any signs of infection by probing nor through an x-ray but did prescribe penicillin due to pain above the affected tooth which he is currently crowning. My doc also refilled the diclofenac. The pharmacist added floragen with the prescription given I was left with a uti following a round of penicilan prescribed by the endodontist after the first half of the root canal procedure in late August. What else could cause this discomfort?
