Question: Hello Doctor, I have caught a cold and i'm having severe nose blockage and it's being difficult for me to sleep or breath easily. so, can i use a nebulizer for treating a cold? will it have any side effects?

Hello,

To answer your question, yes you can use nebulizer without any side effects. However nebulizers will come with medication. If you have nose block you seem to have thick mucus stuck in the nose that is making it difficult to breath.

I suggest you to use Nasivion spray, one puff in each nostril every 4 hours especially before you sleep. It has saline solution and it will break the thick mucus to thin so that there is good movement of air in and out of nostril.
