Question: I'm not as regular as I used to be. I'm 28. This started 3 weeks ago. I go once a day still, BUT not nearly as much is evacuated as before. I have eaten more food than I have evacuated, by far. I feel like there should be more coming out. I am also pudgier than usual around my lower abdomen. The amount of stool that comes out is much smaller than the amount of food I eat. That leads me to believe there is still food inside my intestines. How can I make sure everything is evacuated from my colon??

Brief Answer:
Water, consider juice fast

Detailed Answer:
Hello. There are several things that could be going on. Eating a high fiber diet is great but if you do not drink enough water with it then constipation can result. Also changing your sleep pattern can interrupt normal digestion and result in constipation. High fat foods also promote constipation as they are very low in fiber. The best way to make sure you are having enough stool passed is to increase your water intake and stabilize your diet. A diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and lean meat is best. If all of this does not work consider doing a cleansing juice fast drinking only juices for 2-3 days. Good luck.
