Brief Answer:
If everything went well,no risk for bacteria to get into your bloodstream..

Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,

If the abscess is caused by MRSA bacteria (methycillin-resistant staphylococcus aerus); please bare in mind that such abscess is surrounded by a fortified shell that keeps the bacteria inside. This shell is being removed during abscess surgery; and the affected area is well medicated and sterilized in order for the bacteria not to penetrate deeper into bloodstream. Hopefully, that will not happen to you.

I am sure your doctor has also prescribed antibiotics that will also kill the remaining bacteria and prevent blood invasion.
So, if all went well during the surgery, the bacteria won't get into your bloodstream hopefully.

Skin is red because of the surgery (removal of abscess; the itchiness is indicating that the skin is under healing process.

However, in case you notice a sudden increase in body temperature and feel chills and general non-well feeling, should seek immediate medical attention or even to go to ER for immediate evaluation and treatment.

Wish fast recovery!
