Question: my 3 year old boy started coughing yesterday with a runny nose. Today he has the same and was wheezing and is swallowing a lot of phlegm and trough up twice. He is asleep now and we used an oximeter to read his oxygen level and it is at 90 and pulse is 120. What should we do?

I have gone through the detail and do understand your concern.
The common cause of cough,running nose followed by wheezy episode in this age is some viral infection(causing bronchiolitis) or hyper responsiveness to any allergen (hyper reactive airway disease).
SpO2 of a healthy baby should be more than 95%.
Pulse rate is also high.
Here the main aim of management is to give supplemental humidified oxygen and some nebulisation with bronchodilator (to relieve airway spasm/wheeze).
Here I suggest you to contact your pediatrician immediately for clinical evaluation and management accordingly.
