Brief Answer:
Advice regarding premature graying of hair

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query.

The first onset of gray hair and the speed at which people go gray varies from person to person.
"Premature graying" is defined as gray hair onset before age 30 in Asians. The most common areas on the scalp in which to first see gray hair development are above the ears OR at the temples. The graying of hairs then spreads to other areas.
Gray hair development in the beard and mustache may also start quite early, while gray hair on the chest and pubic region generally only occurs some years after onset of gray hair on the scalp.
Currently treatment options are limited but are worth the indication- Para aminobenzoic acid (PABA) and Calcium pantothenate are well known and are known to arrest and even reverse premature graying e.g Pabatab-BZ Tablet Or Vighan - CP Tablet. You may take either of these for at least 6-8 months under supervision of a dermatologist in your region.
Topical Melitane is a new molecule that has recently be come available for premature graying of hair. It is available as a 5% serum and needs to be applied once daily (2ml) at night at the roots. It can be use for both scalp as well as beard graying.
Hope this helps you in getting a solution to your problem

Regards
Take care

Thanks a lot Dr. Kakkar for your reply. Will it be fine to start with your above mentioned medicines without consulting any other Dermatologist. If yes, which one's to take & what will be the dosage, any precaution's to take and any particular food to avoid.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Brief Answer:
Take treatment under supervision

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

These are prescription medications and must only be taken under supervision and after proper prescription of a dermatologist. This is because treatment of premature graying is long term and it is important to have a record. You may take either of these alone or in addition to any other market preparation that your dermatologist might advice.
