Suggest Treatment For Persistent Bleeding Caused By An Injury

default
Posted on Tue, 20 Oct 2015
Question: Dear Doctor,

I hit my head just above the eye on my eyebrow, it opened up and bled. In the morning all around my eye and below my eye was black and swollen pockets of blood above and below my eye. That was a few days ago and the blood is still moving further down. I am on blood thinners.

Is there anything I can do to help speed up the recovery?

Thanking you,
doctor

Brief Answer:
Some home remedies for head injury

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxx,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

It seems that you have a head injury. Here are a few things that you can do to help this:
Don't drive or exert too much after the injury
Avoid alcohol
Do not take any other medication unless given by a doctor
Rest and try and sleep 8 to 10 hours a day
Ice the area where there is a swelling to help you
Take small meals rather than big meals
Take a lot of liquids and eat fruits to promote recovery

Fruits contain vitamins which help promote recovery.

If you lose consciousness or feel faint, please see a doctor as soon as possible.

I hope I have answered your question. Please post a follow up if you have more questions.
