Question: I also have a tight tendon that bisects the right armpit. It appeared after I tore my upper tricep muscle, that was 3 mths ago. It seems very tight, how can this be relieved.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
I think it is long head of biceps

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think you have torn long head of biceps. I would suggest you to get ultrasound of the abdomen. It will confirm the diagnosis. If there is torn muscles then it will need repair of the tendon.
If ultrasound is not showing any torn muscles then hot water fomentation and muscle relaxant like Myoril will take care of the spasm. Do not do any massage.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks

I have had an ultrasound which gave the torn tricept diagnosis, the tendon protrudes as well the side lat muscle has an awkward shape to it when hands are on head. Is this a tendon out of place causing these shapes as well as the shoulder bursitis which remains. Thanks

Brief Answer:
If this is torn then it needs surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
if triceps is torn then it will need surgery to repair it. That depends on what percentage of fibres are torn. So if it is more then fifty percent then you need to get it operated. If it is less then fifty percent then you can treat it with physiotherapy and medicines.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
