ok not herpes? and what can I do to prevent this it's quite painful when my thighs rub together

It’s not herpes, apply a topical antibiotic

It’s not herpes.

I would recommend you to apply a topical antibiotic like Neosporin ointment or Mupirocin cream on the affected areas twice daily for 5-7 days.
This will resolve them.
