Suggest Treatment For Lump Near Clitoris
Question: Hi, I have found a lump about the size of a 'tick tack' just below (& to one side) of my clitoris. It's not painful or inflammed. Just appeared under my skin. I've never had anything like it before. I'm 46 years old.
Brief Answer:
Infection of hair follicle
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I read your query and I understand your concerns about boil near clitoris.
Following is my reply:
1) This is likely to be from infection of the hair follicle.
2) This generally gets cured spontaneously by itself in 15 days.
3) Before getting cured, it may flare up, burn or become red which is fine and not to be worried.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.
Regards,
Dr. Soumya

Thanks for your reply.
So an 'infection of hair follicle' - is that the same as a ingrown hair?
Can you please advise what the best course of treatment is for this area - especially if it does flare up.

Brief Answer:
Wash and dry twice daily
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This is slightly different from ingrown hair.
My suggestion would be keep the area neatly shaved and clean. I have seen many cases improve with just good hygiene. Wash the area with soap and water twice daily and dry it. This will reduce the flare up soon.
Let me know if you have any more concerns.
