Question: under the right butt cheek is an area that itches, at times, rather severely. It's intermittent and happens about a couple of minutes a day. I see nothing there but the area of the itch is hard and about 1/3 inch in diameter. it moves around daily in an area of about 8 inches in diameter and is nownere else on the \body. This has been going on for about 4 months . It seems like something living underneath the skin. I put benedril creme on it and it stops itching un til the next time.

Brief Answer:
A photo of the affected area and following info required...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concern.

First, I'd like to ask about a photo of the butt area that is itching. A good clinical examination of the local area is required in order to determine the right diagnosis.

Next, I want to know if you have personal history of constipation? or hemorrhoids? or other bowel problems? This is important as hemorrhoids are also giving the same problems as you are experiencing currently.

Furthermore, intestinal parasites can cause itchiness, which is more notable at night. Examination of stool for ova/parasites will rule it out.

Abscess or infection of the hair root locally can also cause the same problems as you are having.

That's why a good clinical examination is required. Please send a photo to me and provide the information as asked above.

Thank you.
